Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. Our trips welcome photographers of every level, from first-time camera users to working professionals. You’ll receive hands-on guidance, tips, and support throughout the journey so you can grow your skills at your own pace, no matter your starting point.

  • Yes. Many guests come simply to experience wildlife, remote landscapes, and meaningful time in nature. Photography instruction is always available, but never mandatory.

  • We recommend a DSLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses, but a compact camera or even a phone can still capture memorable images. Each itinerary shares a detailed gear list, including suggestions for lenses, storage, and weather protection, but we’re happy to chat through equipment options before you book.

  • Absolutely, many guests travel solo. You’ll join a small group of like-minded adventurers, share experiences together, and often leave with new friends and creative partners.

  • Our expeditions vary in activity level. Some involve short hikes and time on boats or in Zodiacs, while others may include longer days outdoors. Each trip description notes the required fitness level, and we can help you determine whether a journey is the right fit for you.

  • We intentionally keep our trip sizes small, with a maximum guide to guest ratio of 5:1. This allows for more personal instruction, deeper nature experiences, flexible daily planning, and minimal impact on the environment and wildlife.

  • Wildlife is never guaranteed and that’s part of the magic. We choose destinations where encounters are likely and work with experienced local guides who understand animal behaviour, safety, and ethical viewing practices. When moments happen, they’re real, wild, and unforgettable.

  • Each expedition page lists what’s included, but generally you can expect accommodation, guiding, photography instruction, meals in remote locations, and planned activities. Flights, travel insurance, and personal expenses are usually not included.

  • Our itineraries are built around respectful wildlife viewing, low-impact travel, and education. We partner with local operators, share scientific and cultural knowledge, and encourage guests to engage with conservation even after returning home. A portion of some expeditions directly supports environmental initiatives.

  • Wild places are unpredictable, and flexibility is part of expedition travel. Our team monitors conditions continuously and adjusts plans to keep guests safe while maximizing photographic opportunities. Often, unexpected weather creates some of the most dramatic, rewarding images.
